GCS3
Revolutionary Virtual Camera Control
Gamecaster's patented GCS3™ virtual cinematography system enables users to film animated scenes the same way they would shoot live action -- by looking through the GCS3 "viewfinder" and panning, tilting, trucking, craning and zooming the virtual camera in realtime with real-life camera hardware.
The GCS3 features include a stylized form factor, internal motion sensors, an HD color LCD viewfinder, and two proprietary thumbstick controls. The GCS3 can be mounted to a tripod fluidhead and panbars, or a Steadicam® or shoulder mount for hand-held operation.
The GCS3 is compatible with leading animation programs including Autodesk® 3ds Max®, Maya®, and several video game engines. The GCS3 enhances the production process of motion picture previsualization, visual effects, long format and episodic 3D animation, video game cinematics, and tournament broadcasts. Using the GCS3, sports camera operators can shoot the action at video game tournaments on the game's playing field, from within the game itself. This remarkable advance enables sports directors to block multiple GCS3 operators within the game and call an in-game multicamera live switch of the battles, consistent with standards used in real-life sports broadcasts.
The GCS3 takes about 15 minutes to set up, plug into a computer via USB and start filming. Unlike cumbersome motion capture camera systems that require a dedicated room with a volume, the GCS3 is self contained, and with a 4’x4’ footprint, the GCS3 can be set up anywhere.
